LUCKY Tommy Lynch is delighted his career has taken a dive he’s employed to test out holiday resort pool flumes.
Tommy, 29, travels the world hurtling down water chutes and slides and trying out wave machines. He said yesterday: I have the best job in the world. No one believes me when I tell them. It can be a bit tough when it’s chilly and you have to strip off, but otherwise it’s great. Liverpool-born Tommy works for First Choice as a lifestyle product development manager, checking out the height, speed, water quantity, landings and safety of the pool equipment. This year he tested flumes in Spain, Lanzarote, Egypt, Majorca, Turkey, Cyprus, the Algarve, Dominican Republic and Mexico. In 2009 he will go to Greece, Turkey, Florida, Jamaica and Ibiza. His favourites are at Benalmadna on the Costa del Sol, Beaches Negri in Jamaica and Aqua Fantasy park in Kusadasi, Turkey. Tommy said: There is a serious side to my job — it carries a lot of responsibility. Much more goes into the flumes than people realise. Pools and slides are an important part of a family holiday. It’s vital to get everything right. A spokeswoman for First Choice said: As you can imagine, there were no shortage of applicants for Tommy’s job!..
